We All Want Cake is a performance workshop organized by Stichting Mediamatic where participants work together to create an edible sculpture made from unconventional cake ingredients. This freedom celebration will take place on the tour boat of Rederij Lampedusa.

What will you do
With a cake, deep or complex themes can be approached in a more relaxed way because the idea of cake can evoke innocent and nostalgic memories, such as birthdays or parties. Interdisciplinary designer Alejandra Alarcón believes that decorating the cake with different colors, shapes and flavors can also encourage us to think about how big we want our cake to be and how much we are willing to share with others.
Lampedusa Foundation focuses on inclusive canal tours and gives people with immigration backgrounds a platform to share their stories. At the start of the event, the captain will give an introduction to the history of Amsterdam through the eyes of an immigrant. This can open a conversation about what freedom means to everyone.
