In the early morning (08.00!) of 5 May, the illustrious Alma Quartet will play a sensitive string concert in the Oude Kerk. In the magic of the ancient space of the Oude Kerk, the string quartet will play pieces that mark the transition from night to day in a special way: Ainsi La Nuit by composer Dutilleux, Clair de Lune by Debussy and Sunrise opus 76/4 by Haydn.

The concert can be interpreted as a symbolic transition from the darkness of the occupation to the light of liberation, but also as a journey from the dark night to the fresh start of the day. The Alma Quartet is among today’s leading string quartets and is made up of four passionate members of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra.
