De Zuidas stands still
4 MAY 2023
19:15 — 20:05
De Nieuwe Poort
Attention! This event has already passed.
De Nieuwe Poort (The New Gate) believes that it is good to pause in the Zuidas on 4th May.
Remembrance on 4 May is a valuable national tradition. Standing still is something that doesn’t happen much on the Zuidas; people run and fly about the place every day. The Nieuwe Poort believes that on the Zuidas, people should be allowed to stop for a moment.
Once again this year, De Nieuwe Poort (The New Gate) is trying to encourage the Zuidas to have a moment of reflection. At 8pm, we will pause together during the national commemoration. Prior to the commemoration, a speaker will reflect on the value of the freed times that we live in.
About De Nieuwe Poort:
De Nieuwe Poort is a homebase for meeting and inspiration, where ancient sources help us understand the new times. De Nieuwe Poort stands for attention and rich ideas, for depth and commitment. You can take a moment for yourself there, find inspiration and meet new people.
On 4 May, we not only reflect on the commemoration of the dead, but also on its meaning. What does commemoration mean today? Why is it important to commemorate?
