The concept of Whisper Concerts came about because the monument Temple (fitted with single glass) has to adhere to a noise limit. Temple invites three different artists to play the ‘whispering version’ of their music on 5 May.
Making soft music is one of the most difficult techniques to master, so this poses quite a challenge for musicians. At the same time this is very exciting to watch and listen to. Temple is keen to introduce musicians and their audiences to the unique acoustics of the stage. Sometimes the musicians alternate, sometimes they interact and sometimes they play together.
This evening’s performers are Frank Rosaly, Mint Park and Annelie Koning.
In 2021, cultural centre Tempel, located at Tolstraat 160, opened its doors. The building consists of studios and a stage. It was built in 1927 as a theosophical temple and was later used as a synagogue, film house, mosque and library. Now this special building is used for art and culture.
