On 4 May, we commemorate the deported Jews and resistance fighters of Blasiusstraat (between OLVG and Wibautstraat). To commemorate victims personally, everyone is invited to make a name plate. These will be placed on the small square in the middle of the street during the commemoration. If you want to make a memorial page at home with a name plate and a story, you can find the step-by-step plan explaining how to do this here.
Programme
The name plates that were made last year will be laid down again. In this way, we hope to expand the annual commemoration until all of the people from the street have been remembered and symbolically ‘brought home’. We are driven to do this because we feel that they are part of our community and our painful history.
Everyone is welcome – bring neighbours, friends and family. We are still looking for musicians. For questions and comments please email: jokehoiting@hetnet.nl
