On 5 May, we celebrate freedom at Kriterion. We will do this with an in-depth film programme, inspired speakers, workshops for young and old, festive Balkan music, delicious freedom meals, and a whole lot of celebration!

This year, Kriterion has a packed agenda full with films, workshops, music ánd food. The young people’s events will kick off with a children’s film and free family workshop. Afterwards, a number of documentaries and classics will be shown, each focusing on the struggle for freedom in its own way.

Feel like getting your hands dirty? Then join the DeZine Workshop. During this workshop, you will collectively design a magazine about press freedom in the Netherlands. If your bellies start to rumble, you don’t have to leave yet, because by dinnertime you can enjoy a free homemade freedom meal.

In the evening hours, there will be dancing to the music of various bands and DJs, including the Balkan and Klezmer music of Klezmagic.

In short: on 5 May, it’s party time at Kriterion. Be there!
