We commemorate the victims with stories, music, flowers and silence.
In November 1938, after ‘the night of broken windows’, many thousands of Jews tried to flee from Hitler’s Germany to the Western European countries that were still free. Just when the situation was at its most urgent, the borders closed everywhere.
Programme
19:30 Commemoration commences
With stories, music, flowers and silence, we commemorate the victims. The commemoration is organised for and by IJburgers: committee, choir, brass band, TV and young people.
Afterwards, the church and mosque on IJburg will be open for the exhibition and a snack and drink.
