Op 4 mei wordt in Amsterdam Zuidoost door het 4 en 5 mei Comité Amsterdam Zuidoost de jaarlijkse herdenking georganiseerd van de slachtoffers van de tweede wereldoorlog in Nederland en in het voormalig Nederlands-Indië, Suriname en Caribisch gebied, en de nasleep ervan.
Het thema is dit jaar “Vrijheid in verbondenheid”. Indertijd bestond de hoopvolle verwachting dat de coronacrisis ons nader tot elkaar zou brengen. Dat blijkt twee jaar later maar deels waar. De pandemie heeft ook juist maatschappelijke problemen en tegenstellingen aan de oppervlakte gebracht, en getoond dat onze vrijheden soms haaks op elkaar lijken te staan – persoonlijke zeggenschap en het collectieve belang lijken niet altijd verenigbaar. De komende tijd kunnen we
elkaar hopelijk weer meer ontmoeten. Maar het feit dat we weer bijeen mogen komen, betekent niet automatisch dat we ons ook verbonden voelen. Wat zijn de spanningen die hierdoor worden opgeroepen en hoe gaan we daarmee om?
In deze tijden laten de gevolgen van agressieve oorlogvoering zich opnieuw wel weer heel sterk voelen.
De ceremonie bij het monument in Holendrecht, Amsterdam Zuidoost begint om 19.10 uur bij de noordzijde van Metro Station Holendrecht. Vanaf hier is er een stille tocht naar het monument bij De Drecht, waar ceremoniemeester Angelique Hoogmoed iedereen zal verwelkomen. Er zal gesproken worden door Hans Mooren – voorzitter 4 en 5 mei comité Amsterdam Zuidoost, Kathleen Ferrier – voormalig Tweede Kamerlid, Tanja Jadnanansing – voorzitter van dagelijks bestuur Stadsdeel Zuidoost, bijgestaan door een lid van de kindercommissie. Medewerking wordt ook dit jaar verleend door de Scouting Holendrecht. Muzikale bijdragen worden geleverd door Koninklijke Muziekvereniging Tavenu en het duo Walther Muringen en José Tojo.
Om 20:00 uur nemen we 2 minuten stilte in acht. Vervolgens wordt het Wilhelmus gespeeld en vindt de bloemlegging plaats. Na het officiële programma is er een mogelijkheid tot samenzijn in De Drecht, waar koffie en thee wordt geschonken.
Bloemstukken kunnen vanaf 4 uur afgeleverd worden bij wooncentrum De Drecht, Niftrikhof 1.
On 4 May, the 4 and 5 May Committee Amsterdam Zuidoost will organize the annual commemoration of the victims of the Second World War in the Netherlands and in the former Dutch East Indies, Suriname and the Caribbean, and its aftermath.
The theme this year is “Freedom in connectedness”. At the time there was a hopeful expectation that the corona crisis would bring us closer together. Two years later, that turns out to be only partly true. The pandemic has also just brought social problems and contradictions to the surface, and shown that our freedoms sometimes seem to be at odds with each other – personal control and the collective interest do not always seem compatible. In the coming time, we can
hopefully meet again more often. But the fact that we may meet again does not automatically mean that we feel connected. What are the tensions that this raises and how do we deal with them?
In these times, the consequences of aggressive warfare are once again very much in evidence.
The ceremony at the monument in Holendrecht, Amsterdam Southeast starts at 19.10 hours at the north side of Metro Station Holendrecht. From here there will be a silent march to the monument at De Drecht, where master of ceremonies Angelique Hoogmoed will welcome everyone. There will be speeches by Hans Mooren – chairman of the 4th and 5th of May Committee Amsterdam Zuidoost, Kathleen Ferrier – former member of the Dutch Parliament, Tanja Jadnanansing – chairman of the daily board of the Zuidoost district, assisted by a member of the children’s committee. This year Scouting Holendrecht will also participate. Musical contributions will be made by the Royal Tavenu Music Association and the duo Walther Muringen and José Tojo.
At 20:00 hours we will observe 2 minutes of silence. Then the Wilhelmus will be played and the flower-laying will take place. After the official program there is a possibility for socializing in De Drecht, where coffee and tea will be served.
Flower arrangements can be delivered from 4 o’clock at De Drecht residential center, Niftrikhof 1.
